How It Works
From your first call to the final payment: six stages, and one point of contact at every one of them.
Start to finish
Six stages. One point of contact at every one.
From the moment you get in touch, you deal with us. We appoint the contractor, arrange the visit, prepare your quotation, organise the start date, keep you updated and administer the payments.
Your contractor does what they are best at: surveying, pricing and carrying out the work. They are named in your quotation before you commit to anything.
The stages
What happens, and when
Nothing here is billed separately. The coordination comes with the work.
You tell us about the project
By phone, email or the enquiry form: what needs doing, where, and roughly when. We come back with any questions needed to understand the job properly.
We appoint a contractor from our network
Chosen for the type of work and your area. Every contractor in the network was checked for insurance, reviews and references, warranties, trade experience and work history before being introduced to anyone.
We arrange the site visit
Booked at a time that suits you and confirmed with the contractor. You are told who is coming before they arrive.
You receive a written quotation
Your contractor prices the work at trade rates. We prepare it as a clear written quotation on our template, naming your contractor as the appointed main contractor. It is valid for 30 days, and there is no charge and no obligation.
You accept, and we organise the start
A 25% deposit secures the works. We receive it as your contractor's payment administration agent, pass it on without unnecessary delay, and agree a start date with you.
The work goes ahead
Your contractor carries out the work. You keep talking to us: questions, timings, anything unexpected. We get the answers while your contractor gets on with the job.
Completion
The balance falls due on completion and is passed to your contractor. Waste is removed, and your contractor's workmanship warranty, a minimum of 12 months and often longer on larger works, usually runs from completion.

Who does what
Three parties, clearly arranged
You deal with us throughout, for questions, timings, paperwork and updates.
Mortaro Group appoints your contractor, arranges the visit, prepares your quotation, keeps communication moving and administers the payments.
Your main contractor surveys, prices and carries out the work, holds the insurance and provides the workmanship warranty. Your construction contract is with them.

Questions about the process
Is there a charge for the site visit or the quotation?
No. There is no charge for the visit or the quotation, and no obligation to go ahead.
How long does it take to get a price?
On smaller works such as repairs and rooflight installations, we aim for about 48 hours after the visit. More involved jobs can take longer to price properly, and we will tell you when to expect yours rather than leaving you guessing.
Will I know who the contractor is?
Yes. Your contractor is named in your written quotation, before you commit to anything.
Who do I talk to while the work is happening?
Us. That is the point of the arrangement: your contractor can concentrate on the work, and you always have someone to ask.
