Payments Explained
Exactly where your money goes, when, and how you can pay. Stated plainly.
The short version
Your payment goes to your contractor. We make sure it gets there promptly.
When you accept a quotation, a 25% deposit secures the works and the balance is due on completion. There is nothing to pay before you accept.
Both payments are legally made to your appointed main contractor. Mortaro Group receives them as the contractor's payment administration agent and passes them on without unnecessary delay.
Step by step
Where your money goes
You accept your quotation
Nothing is paid before this point. The site visit and the quotation are free.
You pay the 25% deposit
By bank transfer, to secure the works and the start date.
We pass it to your contractor
As their payment administration agent, without unnecessary delay.
The work is completed
Your contractor carries out the work, with us handling the communication throughout.
You pay the balance
Due on completion, and passed to your contractor in the same way.
Our role in the payment
Payment administration, stated plainly
We act solely as payment administration agent for your appointed main contractor. The construction contract, and so the payment, is between you and them.
We do not hold client funds and we are not an escrow service, so we will not describe your money as protected or held on your behalf. What you have instead is a contractor who was checked before being introduced, named in writing before you pay anything, and answerable to a network that removes contractors who fail to put things right.
There is no separate coordination fee. The price in your quotation is the price of the work, with the coordination included.

Questions about paying

Your appointed main contractor, who is named in your quotation. We receive it and pass it on as their payment administration agent.
How can I pay?

There is no separate fee. Contractors in our network price at trade rates, so your quotation is comparable to going to a contractor directly, with the coordination included.
